Through a partnership between the San Antonio Public Library and the airport, passengers now have access to the library's catalog of digital downloads via touchscreen kiosks located in the airport's two terminals. The kiosk software is provided through Overdrive, a full-service digital distributor of books and other content, which serves as the gateway to the local library's digital collection. Local library card- holders can access the entire digital collection via 55-inch interactive screens. For out-of-town airport visitors, the kiosks offer a temporary library card from OverDrive. The project was funded by the friends of the San Antonio Public Library. "General aviation airports in particular are constantly fighting an uphill battle when it comes to proving their worth to a community. Telling those success stories and keeping the public informed about how the airport benefits both the aviation and non- aviation aspects of the local economy are important.
