Hanscom Field Age: 31 Years in Aviation: 11 Ryan Sheehan used to ride his bicycle to the departure path of the local airport and wait for the smiling PSA DC-9 to take off. Today he drives a car to work, but this 20-year aviation veteran still spends his days hooked on aviation. Sheehan is the Director of Operations and Maintenance for Spokane Airports, which operates Spokane International Airport and Felts Field. In this role, he manages the Airport Operations, Maintenance and Fuel Facility departments. Together, this group oversees most of the daily operations of both airports including all maintenance functions, regulatory compliance duties and airfield safety. Prior to being employed by Spokane Airports, Sheehan worked as an Airport Operations Technician with the Port of Bellingham, Wash., for six years. This position included providing aircraft rescue and fire fighting services, airport security, airport operations, maintenance and janitorial work. Sheehan has a Bachelor's degree in Manage- ment of Technical Operations, with a minor in Aviation Safety, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University–Worldwide Campus and an Associate's degree from Whatcom Community College. DID YOU KNOW? SHEEHAN has seven children, three of whom are from Ghana and one from Haiti. DID YOU KNOW? The more stressful the job, the more accurately FADDEN works. Kerri Fadden: Makes childhood dream her career Though she'd never been on an airplane, in an airport, nor had any relatives in aviation, Kerri Fad- den knew from the age of 12 that an aviation career was for her. She simply knew that watching planes fly several miles high across the sky was enough to hold her interest. She took her interest in the skies to college with her, where Fadden graduated with a Bach- elor of Science degree in Aviation Management, an Associates of Science degree in Flight Operations, and an MBA from Daniel Webster College. Her college flight path included achieving her pilot's license and accepting her first aviation job as a line service technician for a small FBO. After graduating, Fadden was promot- ed into the accounts payable department as the FBO's Warranty Administrator. In 2006, Fadden served as Airport Operations Specialist at the Burlington International Airport. In 2008, she was the Airport Operations Coordinator at William P. Hobby Airport. She joined the Massachusetts Port Authority team in 2011 as an Airport Operations Shift Manager for L.G. Hanscom Field.
