ACI-NA Appoints Paradies Lagardère’s Patrick Wallace to Board of Directors Paradies Lagardère announced that Patrick Wallace, vice president, business development, has been appointed to the Airports Council International-North America’s (ACI-NA) World Business Partners/Associates Board of Directors. He will serve on the board for a term of three years. Billy Bishop Airport Completes Airfield Rehabilitation Program PortsToronto completed the Billy Bishop Airfield Rehabilitation Program. The significant three-year rehabilitation initiative included the reconstruction of runways and taxiways, the installation of new energy efficient LED lighting and the construction of a Ground Run-up Enclosure. Mobile Airport Authority Promotes Chris Curry to President The Mobile Airport Authority (MAA) promoted Executive Director Thomas “Chris” Curry to president of the Mobile Airport Authority. In this role, Curry oversees all aspects of the Mobile Downtown Airport, Mobile Regional and the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley under the direction of the Airport Authority Board. HDR Expands Aviation Practice HDR named Tim Fish, P.E., to East region aviation manager. With HDR for eight years, he previously served as Florida aviation director and managing principal in south Florida. Kevin Ashton joined the firm’s transportation architecture practice as an aviation architecture principal based in New York City. Ashton, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, NCARB, will lead business and project development to serve aviation clients in the Northeast. Sonoma Jet Center Announces Stage II IS-BAH Safety Certification Sonoma Jet Center recently became the first FBO in Northern California and one of a handful in the United States to achieve successful implementation of Stage II of the International Standard for Business Aircraft Handling (IS-BAH). IS-BAH Stage II certification demonstrates Sonoma Jet Center’s commitment to safety and innovation for customers, employees, and the public at large. Long Beach Completes Runway Reconstruction Long Beach Airport (LGB) to celebrate the completed reconstruction of Runway 8R-26L, which is primarily used for general aviation. Runway 26L is Long Beach Airport’s shortest but busiest runway. Gary/Chicago International Airport U.S. Customs Facility Opens Gary/Chicago International Airport (GYY) announced its new general aviation U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility is open for business and accepting international arrivals. Airport users can now fly into Gary from any destination in the world without having to stop at another airport to clear customs. Lamar Advertising to Manage OOH Inventory at MSN Lamar Advertising Co. has been awarded a contract by Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) to manage all Out of Home advertising inventory within the airport. Lamar will initially refurbish all existing advertising inventory in the airport, replacing all static signage with premium displays and introducing digital displays for the first time. Albert Dwoskin Joins MWAA Board of Directors Albert Dwoskin joined the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Board of Directors as an appointee of the governor of Virginia. Dwoskin is president and chief executive officer of A.J. Dwoskin & Associates. Angie Spear named Fairbanks International Airport Manager Angie Spear was named manager of Fairbanks International Airport (FAI). Spear has worked at FAI since 2005.
