November 2014 airportbusiness 43 UNDER Jeffrey Sigmon: A fascination with aircraft led to an aviation career CEO and Co-founder ProDIGIQ Age: 39 Years in Aviation: 8 Jeffrey Sigmon started working in aviation because of his fascination with aircraft, which stemmed from his grandfather's stories of working for the FAA as an air traffic controller. Sigmon's first job in aviation began just weeks after Hurricane Katrina in 2005 as a line service technician fueling and handling aircraft when the city was at the height of trying to return to a sense of normality. It didn't take long for his hard work to become noticed. He became instrumen- tal for a new startup FBO in the city overseeing customer relations, operations and the business development program, attracting corporate and fractional operators like NetJets. After graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration he began working in Airport Operations at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. Sigmon, now the Manager of Air Service and Cargo Development, has been part of a small team to attract new air service. Since beginning his new role, the airport has attracted four new airlines and 11 new nonstop destinations. He uses market intelligence and forecasting to create unique and meaningful business cases depicting the economic viabil- ity the city offers. DID YOU KNOW?
